Anyone who’s lived in Wisconsin for a while knows that the weather can change in an instant. It was pretty difficult to believe that the month of March would continue without some kind of snowstorm to remind us that mother nature is still the boss.
Wednesday the 23rd started very clear with temperatures in the upper 50s. It was the kind of day that motivated folks to wear shorts in defiance of the waning winter season.
I took these pictures with my phone to capture the general feeling of the day. It was looking like summer was just around the corner.
Then came Thursday morning. At first it seemed like the really nasty weather would turn out to be nothing more than a cold rain. After about an hour the temperature began to drop and the rain turned into a very treacherous glaze of ice. Personally, I would rather have the snow.
On Friday morning I got my wish. A thick heavy wet snow fell almost all day. Even the animals that were starting their springtime nesting seemed to be caught by surprise!
Dawn on Saturday morning showed that it was all over. I love Wisconsin.
